Unleash the power of teamwork! This guide shows you how to add task followers & leverage their power for better communication & task success.
Collaboration is critical to getting things done! Bizman’s task management tool allows you to assign tasks and add followers, keeping everyone on the same page and ensuring smooth task execution.
What are Task Followers?
Task followers are team members who, while not directly assigned the task, still need to be kept in the loop about its progress. Adding them as task followers allows them to:
- Stay Informed: Followers receive notifications about task updates, including creation, status changes, and when comments are added. This transparency promotes a collaborative environment where everyone is aware of task progress.
- Provide Input: Followers can leave comments and suggestions on the task, offering valuable insights and expertise even if they're not actively working on it.
- Increase Accountability: Knowing they are being kept in the loop motivates followers to contribute their knowledge and resources if needed to ensure the task's success.
How to Add Followers in Bizman
Adding task followers in Bizman is relatively straightforward:
- While creating or editing a task, navigate to the "Select Follower" section.
- Start typing a team member's name and select them from the dropdown list.
- You can add multiple followers by repeating step 2.
Alternatively, you can type "@" followed by the team member's name within the task description or comment. Anyone mentioned this way will automatically be added as a follower to the task.
Remember:
By default, the task creator and assignees are not included in the list of task follower options. They are automatically notified of any updates to the task they create or are assigned to, and they can edit the task directly. Therefore, adding them as followers would not be necessary.
By strategically utilizing task followers, you create a more collaborative work environment and increase the chances of successful task completion.
